The Death of Chadwick Boseman

On August 28, 2020, an actor by the name of Chadwick Boseman passed away from colon cancer. At the age of 43, Chadwick had already been in more than three hit movies and fought cancer while filming these movies. Chadwick had been battling cancer for 4 years. 

Various people were shocked and devastated by this information because they had not known that he had been battling cancer while still releasing and working diligently on these hit movies. “A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you so many of the films you have come to love so much,” wrote CNN.

People were extremely devastated to hear about his death because a large number of people had enjoyed his movies and his personality both off and onset. Chadwick had supported a lot of local and worldwide causes and charities such as donating to hospitals to help fight various types of cancers and supporting the Black Lives Matter Movement. “It is with profound sadness that we mourn the loss of alumnus Chadwick Boseman who passed away this evening. University President Wayne A. I. Frederick stated, “His incredible talent will forever be immortalized through his characters and through his own personal journey from student to superhero! Rest in Power, Chadwick!”

Other actors have also been affected by this devastating news. Not only were they actors that had worked with Boseman in previous movies devasted, but it was also actors that had just known Boseman and were friends with him. “Boseman’s collaborators in the Marvel Cinematic Universe also grieved the loss of their friend and co-star. Boseman’s family said in a statement that ‘it was the honor of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in ‘Black Panther,’” stated The Washington Post. Chadwick Boseman’s death shocked and devastated all of America. The entire country sends condolences to the Boseman family.
